HEZETA & Bodega y QUADRA | 1775: Second Bucareli Expedition
First, Act of Possession, June 11, 1775
The Second Bucareli Expedition's two Franciscan friars, Miguel de la Campa Cos and Benito de la Sierra, chanted Te Deum Laudámus as the historical procession climbed Monte de la Cruz know today as Trinidad Head, California. A Redwood cedar cross was erected, where a granite monument placed in 1913 now commemorates the 'Act of Possession' that took place there on June 11, 1775.
Second, Act of Possession, July 14, 1775
Situación de la Cruz - is located on Ruby Beach, Olympic National Park. This historical alignment of facts, shall continue to prove that Point Grenville, Washington, is not the correct location where Commander Ezeta led the second Act of Possession, on July 14, 1775.

THE TRUTH | HOH RIVER MARTYRS
Point Grenville, Washington is mentioned in many publications as the location where the Spanish Act of Possession took place on July 14, 1775, however historical maps and journals do not support this false narrative. The first observation every historian, or researcher must note regarding Point Grenville is that its not a Spanish name. Point Grenville is British Empire 1792. The Spanish name given to the same coordinates as Point Grenville is Punta de la Bastida - Latitude: 47° 18' 9.00" N
Longitude: -124° 16' 25.80" W.
On the 1792 chart provided here, Punta de la Bastida (Point Grenville) can be found just south of Isla de Dolores (Island of Pain). Ensenada y Rio de los Mártires (Cove and River of the Martyrs) is correctly shown north of Isla de Dolores, where the Hoh River flows into the Pacific Ocean.
